Gizmo does DeNiro! For this week’s Photo Art Friday…

Using Bonnie’s Free to you textures – Faded Fresco (changed the hue/saturation on this one for a better fit), and Sweet Secret – 1 x vivid light (100%) and 1 x soft light (100%). I put Faded Fresco over the top, using hard light blend mode and removed the texture from the birdie!

Giz is a 6 year old Conure African Grey parrot – pure female, with hormones to match. She adores my husband and considers him to be HER husband! She detests me and gets along with our DD. We’ve had her since she was 4 month old and she talks beautifully (mostly!). Of course she swears, sings, imitates the phone’s ring tone, barks like the dogs and can even mimic the gurgling noise of the fridge… She’s a lot of fun and her “comic timing” is impeccable!

She’ll be left to DD in our wills, as she is likely to live some 60-70 years! From beyond the grave, eh?!! 😉

Also enjoy the faded fresco. Wonderful job, Rosie, of processing. thanks for sharing, Karen

  2. Good morning Rosie! IT is rather difficult to find you as your blog name is not listed on your “google id”, but here I am anyway. Your id goes to your old blog, or one other place I looked there was nothing but your name and astrological sign ( same as mine) Loved the picture of your bird and it also made me so sad. We had a wonderful bird talking and singing all of the time. My husband has a major lung disease and last week at the pulmonologist, the Dr told us we had to get rid of the bird immediately because of all of the dander from parrots. Right now, my neighbor has him and we miss him so much!! Funny, our bird also loved my husband and hated me, having gotten in some very nasty bites. Still extremely amusing however! Our corner in the living room seems extremely bare. Posted some sad pictures of him on my blog just last week. Have a wonderful day! Jeanne

Oh Marian – how sad… My mother had to give up hers too as she was asthmatic. I feel for you both. Luckily we have no problems to with breathing, but she does create a helluva lot of dust!

Wouldn’t allergy injections help? – I’m allergic to both cats/dogs and we have 6 cats and 1 dog living in our house. Five of the cats sleep with us. I also have Asthma but am on medication for that and take allergy injections every month. It allows me to enjoy my furry friends so much.

your parrot is beautiful, and it amuses me she is jealous;) she make a good model for photos though, and you edited this one wonderfully (as always…)

Wonderful photo of your Parrot and what a great edit. I love how bright and cheery it looks. Now if I could figure out how to erase textures off of portions of my photo’s I’d be happy.

Oh my goodness Rosie, Gizmo is adorable. I have several African Greys. Most are rescues or handicapped in some way. Each of them have such different personalities, and are amazing talkers. I just love each one of them.

This is a beautiful image, and I love the processing you did on it.

    Have a fantastic weekend!

  7. Great to finally see a pic of Gizmo! Sounds exactly like the bird I would have, if I had one! Parrots are wonderful, and I’m sure yours is exceptional, Rosie! Of course she is! XOXO
